ADAM Murray singled out match-winner Ryley Reynolds for praise after his goal earned Kidderminster Harriers the points against Spennymoor Town.

Reynolds scored for the second time in three matches for Harriers after he also found the net in Kidderminster’s recent draw at Chester.

And the Kidderminster boss heaped praise on the Notts County loanee who is currently in his second spell with the club.

Murray said: “I’m over the moon for Ryley. He’s waited really patiently for his chance.

“He’s a lot like me in terms of he’s very strong in his faith. We’ve spent a lot of time praying with each other even when he’s not in the team.

“He knew that these moments would come and he’s getting the benefits from it now.

“His attitude has been top drawer. He’s just one of those players who is a pain in the backside for the opposition.

“He doesn’t stop. Where he gets his energy from is unbelievable but his mindset for a young man is top drawer.

“He started enjoying himself once he scored which was nice to see.”

Reynolds scored the game’s only goal at Aggborough just past the hour mark with a well-placed strike into the bottom right corner from the edge of the penalty area.

And Murray believes his side’s leaders are coming to the fore in a young squad after Kidderminster stretched their unbeaten run to three matches.

Murray added: “We knew it would be a tough game but the focus has been on us over the last couple of weeks.

“The boys, to a man, battled, did the basics and did the ugly stuff. We did what the game demanded. All credit to the boys.

“There was a lot more composure in our defending at the end which was good to see.

“My remit this season was to get us into the top-seven and these are the games you have to win, against play-off rivals, if you want to be there.

“We’re a young team but the leaders are stepping forward. The boys who need to dominate the changing room are dominating the changing room.”

Kidderminster are next in action against Alfreton Town on Saturday, November 1 with kick-off 3pm at The Impact Arena.
