ADAM Murray insists Kidderminster Harriers have not achieved anything yet after putting National League side Morecambe to the sword in the FA Trophy.

Harriers romped to a 6-2 victory against Morecambe at Aggborough to reach the fifth round of the competition as Kidderminster scored five goals before the break.

The win means Murray has now guided Harriers to eight straight victories in all competitions while the Harriers boss also won the National League North’s manager of the month award for December.

However, Murray stressed Harriers have not achieved anything yet despite an impressive run of results.

Murray said: “It’s been a good period. It’s important we stay humble and we stay grounded.

“We’ve got the results we have because of our work ethic, mindset and attitude and we can’t go away from that.

“We’ve achieved nothing. We’ve had a few good performances and got some wins and that’s it.

“Morecambe are so close to being a very good team. We felt if we matched them up in our normal shape it would have been an even game that could have gone either way.

“I wanted to give them different problems and attack from different areas with a different strategy.

“It’s always a risk and if it fails you look like a plonker but it went the way we thought it would go.

“We were really ruthless.”

Goals from Reece Devine, Emeka Obi, Toby Onanaye, David, Davis, Ryley Reynolds and Paul Kalambayi helped Harriers reach the fifth round of the competition.

And Murray singled out 34-year-old Davis for praise who is helping to set the standards at the club.

Murray added: “He should have six shouldn’t he. I’ve just made an example of him to the boys in the changing room.

“My thing is ‘how much are we prepared to push to be better?’ and he’s an example of that.

“He’s an example of that. He’s played at the top level and had an unbelievable career but he comes in every day and wants more.

“He still wants to get better, he’s an absolute pleasure, I love working with him.

“He’s as fit as a 20-year-old. He’ll have a long career in the game when he does finally finish playing.”

Kidderminster are next in action against Worksop Town on Saturday, January 17 with kick-off at 3pm at Aggborough.
