KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have suspended first team coach Luca Nicosia pending an investigation into his conduct after the final whistle of the club’s defeat against Radcliffe.

The club’s director of football, Dean Holdsworth, confirmed Nicosia’s suspension after he clashed with supporters following the 5-1 defeat at Aggborough.

Nicosia holds the role of first team technical assistant coach at Harriers.

The club have released a statement on behalf of Nicosia while the investigation takes place.

The statement reads: “Since my arrival at the club in the summer I have been totally committed and contributed fully in my work for the club and manager, as part of the first team staff.

“After the game on Saturday, I heard an unacceptable comment made towards me from the crowd. I reacted in poor judgement with unacceptable behaviour of my own, making inappropriate gestures and comments towards our supporters.

“I recognise that, as a family and professional football club, there are clear standards set by the chairman, the club and manager, and I fell below them.

“I understand and fully accept that my behaviour was unacceptable, and I would like to apologise personally to Kidderminster Harriers supporters for my conduct.”

Kidderminster have confirmed the club will be making no further comment on the incident as they begin an investigation as part of their disciplinary procedures.
