NEW loanee Levi Amantchi scored on debut as Kidderminster Harriers secured a 2-0 win against Halesowen Town in the club’s latest pre-season encounter, writes Jacob Scandrett.
Amantchi found the net in injury time after Ben Crompton had put Paul Wotton’s ahead earlier in the second half at The Grove.
The result means Kidderminster have now won both of their friendly games two-nil following victory at Droitwich Spa in their pre-season opener.
Harriers controlled much of the play with Callum Dolan first to try his luck as he fired a shot across the face of goal just past the quarter-hour mark.
And Max Brogan and Seb Thompson also saw chances come and go with neither side able to break the deadlock in the first half.
Kidderminster started the second half brightly as Lewis Walker saw his powerful effort parried by the Halesowen goalkeeper just two minutes after the restart.
And Walker went close again moments later as his shot skipped past the post after Amantchi played his strike partner through on goal.
Harriers broke the deadlock on 66 minutes when a quick move resulted in a dangerous cross from Brogan which Crompton headed into the net.
The visitors almost doubled their lead when Reece Hall met a Reece Divine cross and sent the ball back across goal before Amantchi clipped the ball over the bar on the stretch.
However, Amantchi marked his debut with a goal in injury time with a composed finish into the bottom corner after Harriers won the ball high up the pitch.
Kidderminster continue their pre-season campaign against Stratford Town on Saturday, July 25 with kick-off at 3pm at the Arden Garages Stadium.
